The goal is to soften dynamic lines, not to eliminate them or freeze facial expressions. The treatment reduces the intensity of muscle contractions. Its visible effect is influenced by the initial depth of the lines, the strength of the muscle, and the quality of the overlying skin. A line that is deeply etched into the skin when the face is at rest is unlikely to disappear, although its appearance may soften. The aim is a reduction in severity, not a total removal of lines or movement.
