Fox Eye Lift

A surgical fox eye lift, or canthopexy, is a procedure that alters the eye's structure. It repositions the canthal tendon, which anchors the corner of the eye to the orbital bone. A thread lift is a non-surgical procedure that uses temporary sutures to pull the skin and underlying soft tissue. The two approaches address different anatomical layers to achieve a change in the eye and brow area. The choice of procedure depends on individual anatomy and the specific goals discussed with the surgeon.

The incisions for a fox eye lift are placed to be as inconspicuous as possible once healed. Common locations are within the hairline at the temple or along the natural crease of the upper eyelid. The precise location, number, and length of the incisions depend entirely on the surgical plan. This plan is tailored to your specific anatomy, skin quality, and the extent of lift required to achieve the intended change in the eye's inclination. The procedure primarily addresses the lateral canthus, the outer corner of the eye. However, the position of the eyebrow's tail is a critical part of the overall shape of the upper face. To create a balanced appearance, the surgical plan often includes an adjustment to the tail of the brow, usually performed through the same incisions. Whether this is necessary, and to what degree, is determined during the assessment of your facial anatomy and the relationship between your eye and brow.

A fox eye lift surgically alters the position of the canthal tendon, which is a structural change to the anatomy of the eye's corner. While this is a lasting adjustment, no surgical procedure can stop the natural aging process. The skin and soft tissues of the face will continue to change over time. The results of the surgery will therefore evolve as your face ages. The procedure is not considered temporary, but its appearance will change with time.
